Hello from Notion
Engineering 1 min read
This post lives in Notion and is rendered by the Astro site at build time — the whole CMS pipeline, end to end.
A decade of writing tools, and the simplest one wins: a table in Notion, a build hook on Cloudflare, and a static site that never goes down.
How the pipeline works
At build time, the Astro content layer queries this very database through the official API. Each row becomes a page; each block below becomes typed, validated content.
export const mdxComponents = {
a: Anchor,
blockquote: Blockquote,
pre: Pre,
};
The CMS is just a table. Everything else is build-time plumbing.
What is next
-
Scheduled rebuilds via Cloudflare deploy hooks
-
Richer block types: callouts, toggles, galleries
